Smoothing is your friend

Ever heard of smoothing? I’m sure you have seen it in the properties dialog…Well smoothing is a friend of yours for many reasons. Flash on the fly (testing your movie in Flash) can frequently produce distortions in your imagery. Therefore it can be very wise to import your images in Flash and add smoothing on them.

For example if you have imported a.jpg or .png you will see that if u tick the smoothing option in your properties dialog box an algorithm is run to correct and pixelations. “On the fly” imagery will be less choppy, especially around the edges.

Note the when you rotate objects on the main timeline (_root, level_1/2/3..etc.) the edges tend to get jagged….If your smoothing option isnt helping you in this situation simply rotate the object in your image editing program and then import into Flash.

It can be tedious working with images for hours at a time…Build habits that sync with speedy quality delivery. Adobe has really triumphed over the past years with imagery issues within flash player – and the team has dedicated themselves to bring brighter and easier solutions for the end users in every aspect of the software.

I have had my hands full with AS 2 and Flash 8 Professional and cant wait to test the software…9 Slice buttons, Adobe Photoshop® and Illustrator® import(native support), Animation conversion to ActionScript™. How much more feature rich interactive media could you ask for??!!
